Dr. Anand Subramanyam has had the privilege of excellence of training in Ophthalmology during his​ Residency training at KEM Hospital, followed by Super-specialty training in Vitreoretinal diseases and​ Surgery at the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya Institute in Chennai, the premier eye institute of India. During​ his 2 years stay in Chennai he has been exposed to a myriad of Vitreo-retinal cases and performed​ numerous Diagnostic and Surgical Procedures. Subsequently he has developed, refined and improved his​ skills in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Lasers through his wide experience in private practice over the last few​ years. He underwent further training at the L.V.Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad in the extremely critical​ field of Retinopathy of Prematurity. To upgrade his skills, he also spent some time under the world renowned​ Dr Stanley Chang in the Colombia University at New York, USA.​
